Notes

Modern interpretation of the 1961 “classic” with mechanical alarm and decompression stop calculator.

The “Nautical-Cricket” was introduced in 1961 as a true diving instrument, taking the functionality of the mechanical alarm a step further with the addition of decompression tables built into the dial. It was designed with the help of diver Hannes Keller who, at the time, held the record for the deepest dive (222 metres).

The 16 holes in the case-back allow the alarm to be audible even at these depths. All this was done to minimise the risk to the diver who did not have access to the types of dive computers that their contemporaries enjoy today.
