Born in Kunming in 1958, Xiaogang Zhang grew up with political upheavals known as the Cultural Revolution in China and it had a certain influence on his work. After graduation, he joined a group of young avant-garde painters and came to prominence during the 1980s. Since then, he has established himself as one of the leading artists in the Contemporary Chinese art world. Each collection includes 20 original lithographs (120 x 80 cm) set in a brushed-aluminium case decorated by an original mural relief, signed and numbered 22/130 by the artist. The sculped box, signed and numbered can be displayed as a bas-relief. The works were printed in France, all prints are in limited edition, each piece is numbered and signed by the artist and accompanied by an original poem written by the renowned poet. It is a rare opportunity to have on hand completed collections such as the ones presented in this book.
