Successor to the CP-1 supplied to the Italian military by BREITLING/LEONIDAS, the ZENITH CP-2 (CP standing for Cronometro da Polsa ie wrist chronometer) was produced, according to scholars in approximately 2500 pieces. While some where assigned to the military (those bears the inscriptions MM for Marina Militare, EI for Escercito Italiano or PS for Pubblica Sicurezza) followed by a military assignment number, the rest were never assigned and sold to the general public.
