Chrisstof Streibel, Augsburg, circa 1620. Extremely rare and important small and fine octagonal rock crystal, 21K gold and enamel pre balance spring single-hand pendant watch with stackfreed, in original octagonal leather fitted box.

C. Two-body, elongated octagonal, deep back, cut from a single piece of rock crystal, faceted on the sides and the back, hinged rock crystal front cover faceted en suite fixed to a gold bezel with opaque white champlevé enamel gold frame enameled both on the outside and the inside, small gold pendant, enameled en suite and swivel bow decorated with white and black enamel. D. Oval, gold, radial Roman numerals with half hour divisions, center with opaque white enamel with gold rosette, outer with translucent dark blue enamel over flinqué with small opaque white enamel accents. Steel hand. M. Oval, 22 x 25 mm (back plate), gilt brass full plate, baluster pillars, fixed barrel with engraved outer walls, C-shaped stackfreed, four-wheel train (pinions with 6,5,5,5 leaves), verge escapement, circular steel foliot, hog?s bristle mounted on adjustable pivoted lever, small brass S-shaped cock with wide pierced and engraved foot secured by a screw. Signed on the movement, box bears a label from the Comte de Reisel Collection. Dim. 30 x 37 mm.

Three-body, ?fermée? type, elongated octagonal, silver faceted covers engraved with Biblical scenes on each facet, outside from the Old Testament, inside from the New Testament, hinged to gilt brass frames engraved with a repeated pattern, silver rectangular band panels also engraved with Biblical scenes, gilt brass pendant in shape of winged angel?s head, loose ring, small silver finial. D. Hinged to the case, champlevé gilt brass Roman hour chapter with half hour divisions applied to a silver octagonal dial plate engraved with a Biblical scene. Brass ?arrow? hand. M. Octagonal, hinged, gilt brass full plate, vase pillars, fusee and cat-gut, short three-wheel train with five-leaf pinions, verge escapement, circular steel foliot, irregular pinned cock, ratchet wheel and click set-up. Two-body, top panel very finely painted with an allegory of Comedy depicting a young woman holding a mask in her hand, others lying at her feet, behind, a violet drapery behind which two children are playing, gold frame chased with a repeated pattern, the edge with black and white champlevé enamel with gold flowers, the bottom part in predominantly dark blue translucent enamel over elaborate engine-turning with corners in white, azure and black champlevé enamel, the base with dark blue translucent enamel over elaborate engine-turning, black and white champlevé frame with gold acanthus leaves. Inside to the right, compartment for the musical movement covered with engine-turned panel, to the left ?snuff? compartment. M. Rectangular, 53 x 31 x 13.5 mm., top plate gilt brass, lower brass, full plate, pinned drum with two stocks of 15 tuned teeth each, one stock with grasshopper teeth, 5-wheel train.
