One of only four watches of this type made between 1883 and 1934. Extremely fine and very important, large, 18K gold, hunting-cased two-train clockwatch with grande and petite sonnerie striking and trip minute repeating. Very fine and spectacular, musical, painted, laquered and mirrored wood table clock in the form of a castle with four dials and helical rolling ball activated musical mechanism powering the lift of the ball.

C. In the form of a four-square castle, decorated throughout with polychrome painted trompe l?oeil, inclined base painted to simulate brickwork with arched windows and slits, seven tiers supported by polychrome painted half-pillars and surmounted by a domed cupola, the interiors with checkerboard and strapwork floors and mirrored walls, some painted with figures, each tier balustraded and with a small corner turret, the tier below the dials enclosing the helical channel for the rolling ball, from the helix the ball traverses the periphery of each tier into the base, four corner turrets with domed cupolas and balustraded staircases, raised on four turned feet. D. Four square brass dials, each with engraved foliate spandrels and central flower rosette, silvered chapter ring with radial Roman numerals and inner half-hour markers. Blued steel ?Tulip? hands. M. Rectangular brass plates, brass toothed wheel at right angles driving a long steel rod connected to the wheel driving the four hour wheels at the top. Extremely fine and possibly unique, 18K gold painted on enamel and pearl-set singing bird box with music, center seconds and two-train petite sonnerie striking and repeating clockwatch. Accompanied by the original tooled red morocco fitted case.

Two-body, rectangular with rounded corners, the sides, top and base with panels of translucent Royal blue and deep blue enamel over engine-turned quatrefoil and acanthus leaf decoration within white and pale green champleve enamel geometric and leaf borders, the corners decorated with chased gold urns and black, pale blue and white champleve enamel, the top with pearl-set borders, hinged bird cover very finely painted on enamel with a spray of roses and summer flowers, the interior polished to reflect and magnify the bird, engraved gold grille, the front side panel with glazed pearl-bordered aperture displaying the watch and opening to allow winding, hand-setting and regulation, side compartment with hinged cover for the keys. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute markers. Blued steel ?Arrowhead? hands. The watch movement: 72 x 19 mm., gilt brass, spring barrels for the going and striking trains, jewelled cylinder escapement, plain flatrim three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, rack and pinion regulation via an arbour in the engraved gold dial plate, petite sonnerie striking and repeating with two hammers on two blued steel oblong gongs activated by a lever in the edge of the case, strike/silent lever. The musical movement: 71 x 46 mm., sur plateau, with three-arm brass wheel fly governor, going barrel, large pinned brass disc with 32 tuned steel vibrating blades arranged radially, 16 on each side activated on the hour or at will by a lever in the edge of the case. The singing bird movement: 71 x 45 mm., gilt brass, fusee with chain, eight cams and serinette operated by rectangular bellows, the cams rotate four times per song and lift one step at every rotation allowing a longer duration of singing, multicolored feathered bird rotating on its axis, moving its wings and beak and turning its head, the cam controlling the raising of the bird and cover with five wheel train and pinion in eccentric bushing to regulate the speed of opening and closing. Box punched with the mark of J. G. Remond & Co used between 1804 and 1811. The musical and watch movements punched with the mark of Freres Rochat. Made entirely of gold and enamel in the form of a double-barreled flintlock pistol, conjoined hexagonal barrels in translucent dark blue enamel over flinqué with gold scrollwork simulating damascene work, the opening set with diamonds and terminating with hinged panel enameled on the outside with black enamel and inside painted with a bird among flowers, the gold pan sides with rectangular gold plaques with concave corners, one depicting a sleeping lion, the other an antelope with black enamel border in diamond-set frame, the bottom of the pan decorated with a pattern of alternating straps of gold and black enamel, the grips with translucent scarlet enamel over engine-turning with pearl-set rosette in the middle with rose-cut diamond in the center, lower edge set with half pearls, upper edge decorated with wreath of laurel leaves made of graduated half pearls and black enamel, the back of the grip decorated with gold and black enamel fine crossing pattern with scrolling set with graduated half pearls. Highly exceptional and extremely important, unique, 18K gold, keyless Grande Complication, astronomical, Grande et Petite Sonnerie clockwatch with minuterepeating, split-seconds chronograph with visible works, instantaneous 30-minute register, instantaneous perpetual calendar with phases of the moon and 24-hour indications. Accompanied by original leather fitted mahogany box and the original certificate.

Four-body, "bassine pomme et filets", massive, polished, push button for the split-seconds at 10:30, chronograph safety bolt at 11, switch from petite to grande sonnerie at 3, silent/striking switch at 9. Gold hinged cuvette. D. Matte white, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track with fifths of a second divisions and Arabic five second/minute numerals, four subsidiary dials for days of the week concentric with 24-hour indications, date concentric with seconds, months concentric with leap year indication, aperture for the phases of the moon and moon's age concentric with minute register. GC, rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, two-train, tandem winding, stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, 44 jewels, adjusted to temperature, isochronism and five positions, straight line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, "swan-neck" micrometric regulator, repeating on gongs by tripping a small slide in the band at 5 o?clock.
