Three-body, "Empire", master mark TW, matte band with repeated circle pattern, split pearl-set bezels, pendant and bow, the back painted on enamel with a fine bouquet of summer flowers against translucent red enamel over sunburst engine-turning, the scalloped border decorated in white and light blue champlevé enamel, spring-loaded back opened by a push-piece in the pendant. Extremely fine and equally rare, two-train, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set pocket watch with automaton fire and concealed erotic automaton with rare painted figures.

C. Two-body, "Empire", polished, glazed on both sides, the bezels, pendant and bow set with split-pearls, fluted band, the polished concave sections interspersed with panels of six seed pearls each. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer dot and star minute divisions, apertures for winding both trains. Gold skeleton hands. Very fine chased and engraved varicolored gold scene applied over a magnificent painted ground depicting a drawing room, with blue walls, green ceiling and red curtains, a portrait on the wall and a mirror over the fireplace, an old lady and cat sitting by a fire with a blued steel grate and automaton fire with reflective gilt backing, a dog opposite sits by a tilted basket of flowers by which lie a hat and cane, an engraved gold curtain rises by a lever under the bezel to reveal an erotic automaton scene with painted male and female figures on a bed. M. 50 mm., gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain for the going train, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring, the balance pivots with steel endplates, regulation lever in the dial plate, automaton driven by an independent train with going barrel and five-wheel train, eccentrically mounted and adjustable pinion as the governor, driving the automata by means of wheels and pinions. The Royal Presentation Mirror-Image Pair Geneva, Swiss, No. 2007 & 2008, the enamels depicting ?Affection & Innocence? attributed to Jean-Abraham Lissignol (1749-1819) after an engraving by Francesco Bartolozzi, the cases No. 9703 & No. 9704 by Freres Oltramare (c. 1810/11 and 1826). Made circa 1815 for presentation in the name of King George III to the Chinese Emperor Jiaqing in 1816. An extraordinarily fine, magnificent and historically important, large, mirror-image pair of gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set, quarter-repeating pocket watches with special three-tone blued-steel decorated mirror-polished steel and gilt movements. Accompanied by the original morocco fitted presentation case, the lining embossed with the arms of King George III and a gold and painted on enamel key.

C. Four-body, of unusual form, by Freres Oltramare, master mark ?FO?, the full width of the band entirely set with large splitpearls giving a bowed effect, the bezel, pendant and bow entirely set with split pearls, the back cover with an extremely finely painted on enamel scene of ?Affection & Innocence?, in mirror image to the second watch, large split pearl-set border. Hinged gold-rimmed glazed cuvette to view the movement. D.White enamel with bold radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel lozenge hands. M. 52 mm., 23???, unusual three-tone, gilt brass, mirror-polished steel and blued steel, Lepine-type calibre, brass plate and going barrel finely engraved with scrolling foliage, mirror-polished steel bridges and cocks, to the surfaces of which have applied finely pierced and chased blued steel foliate decoration, brass pivot bushes, jeweled cylinder escapement with steel escape wheel, three-arm balance with polished steel rim, flat balance spring, index regulator, repeating with two hammers on two square-section polished steel gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Danse d?Amour - An Enamel Masterpiece Geneva, Swiss, No. 443, the enamel attributed to Jean-Abraham Lissignol (1749-1819). Made circa 1815. Extraordinarily fine, magnificent and highly important, large, musical, quarter-repeating, gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set, center-seconds pocket watch with automaton of a goose dipping on moving water and an extremely rare fire automaton with moving flames and a curved automaton waterfall and pool activated when the music plays, playing music on the hour or at will, the musical movement of highly unusual and extremely rare sur plateau ?musical-box? type.

C. Four-body, ?Empire?, bezel set with large split-pearls, pendant and bow decorated with royal blue and pale blue champleve enamel and set with split-pearls, wide band inlaid with mauve opaque champleve enamel, engraved gold leaves with green enamel and gold flowerheads with translucent royal blue enamel petals and red centers, the back cover set with a magnificently painted on enamel panel depicting a young couple in classical dress performing an elegant dance in a garden landscape, the border set with large split pearls, back opening to reveal the finely painted on enamel automaton Swiss rustic scene of a young country couple by a cottage putting branches on a fire with automaton flames, a Swiss mountain lake scene with cows and a sheep in the background, in the foreground a small rocky pool with two twisted glass rods imitating the water and an automaton painted on enamel goose which dips forward into the water, to the left-hand side a waterfall with curved glass rod imitating the water. Hinged glazed gold-rimmed cover over the automaton scene with apertures for the winding and hand-setting. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with dot seconds divisions and Arabic fifteen-second numerals, secured by a single screw. Gilt lozenge hands. M. 52 mm., matte gilt with standing barrel for the going train, cylinder escapement, three arm balance, flat balance spring, index regulator, repeating with two hammers on two square-section gongs activated by a slide on the band, slides for music/silence and music start/stop on the rim beneath the back cover. Musical movement: Sur plateau, with large fixed brass barrel, pinned brass disc with detachable bridge playing on one side with two steel combs fixed at opposite sides of the disc, each comb with eleven tuned vibrating teeth, pinned detent spring against the hour wheel for hourly activation of the music. Automaton movement: driven by a brass wheel mounted with a steel cam geared via a pinion driven by the teeth on the circumference of the pinned musical disc, the goose automated by means of a steel rack lever arm acting against the cam, separate brass plate holding the red twisted glass and brass rods for the fire flames with magnified lenses in front, driven by wheels and cannon pinions, the waterfalls and pool given the effect of moving water by means of a rotating silvered disc engine-turned with a swirling pattern. Diam. 61 mm.
