Humberto 1 st, King of Italy from 1878 to 1900. He was born in Torino on March 14, 1844, the second son of Victorio Emanuele II. In 1868 he married his cousin Margherita and was murdered in Monza on July 29, 1900.

Invented by Frederic Houriet circa 1810 and described by him in a special advertisement , such thermometers were Iater produced by Urban Jurgensen, his son in law and by Breguet.

This chronometer incorporate many features such as the caliber, the spherical balance spring and the spring detent escapement,of the pieces produced by Frederic Houriet.

In very good condition. Diam. 61 mm. This watch was almost certainly made in Switzerland by Houriet, for export via France to the Middle East.
