C. Gilded metal sheath with floral and foliate decoration in relief, two sides with applied silver decoration set with multicoloured stones, hinged two-body vari-coloured gold top houses the watch, the back of which has a painted enamel portrait of a lady. The bottom of the sheath has a dendritic agate on one side and a painted enamel medallion with a portrait of a lady within a frame of ruby-colored stones on the other. The medallion can be rotated revealing a potentially incandescent scene beteen the lady and gentleman. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute divisions, five-minute Arabic numerals. C. Outer: two-body, entirely repoussé, depicting Erminia and the Shepherds, from an episode in a romantic epic poem of the First Crusade by Tasso. Erminia, daughter of a Saracen king, was in love with the Christian knight Tancred and, in her search for him, disguised herself in armor. She came across an old shepherd and his family who extolled the virtues of a peaceful existence, in contrast to war which she in her armour seemed to typify. Tavernier à Paris, circa 1765.Very fine and unusual astronomical 20 ct. gold, diamond-set, double-face dumb and à tact quarter repeating, mnemonic and manual perpetual calendar watch with year indication.

C. Two-body, 'Louis XV', glazed on both sides, the bezel on the calendar side chased and engraved with symbols of science, love and hunting, the other with flowers. The scene on the cuvette is from the Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio (1313-1375).
