C. Two-body, 'bassine', the backs with a finely painted enamel scene depicting 'La Madonna della Sedia', after the 1514 painting by Raphael. The bezels with inlaid graduated pearls forming horseshoes when the watch is closed, on a ground of turquoise and enamel set with small ruby accents, the bow and pendant en suite. D. White enamel radial Roman chapters and outer minute and half-second divisions, set at the top of the automaton background painted with Alpine scene with a lake and a chalet inwoodland setting. The automaton in applied chased and engraved multi-coloured gold, represents two musicians, a lady playing the harp and a boy playing the mandolin, moving their arms in time with the music. Rectangular with three compartments with pearl borders, the centre panel with a painted on enamel semi-circular medallion depicting Cybèle wearing a turreted 'mural' crown and holding a cornucopia. The 'earth mother' is in her chariot and at her feet is one of the lions who draws it. She is flanked by two spring-loaded panels with classical figures in chased gold over a black enamel ground, the left one covering the watch, the right one the automaton, the base with translucent dark blue and back pattern over an engine-turned ground, the side and back panels en suite with two champlevé enamel harps. The automaton scene with multi-coloured gold cupids at a forge. One pumps the bellows while the fire burns, the other is forging arrow heads, a wind mill turns in the background. D. Rectangular, centre with gold decoration forming the outline of an elaborate clock against dark blue enamel over engine turning, central white enamel dial with Breguet numerals and outer minute divisions, abovwhite enamel dial for subsidiary sunk seconds. The bird cover is opened, the bird raised and set in motion, and the song started with a slide in the edge of the case. The articulated bird rotates, turns its had, opens its beak, flaps its wings and moves its tail.D. White enamel, Roman numerals with minute and seconds dot divisions.
