A Monsieur J.-J. Guerlain Watch No. 2752, completed on 16 June 1932, sold to the above on 13 May 1953. Gold watch with "grande" and "petite" sonnerie striking, minute- repeating, moon phase and double winding indicators.

Case: 18 ct., two body and three part of quatre baguettes form, engine-turned à grains d'orge, with reeded band, "No.B.2752". Gold cuvette signed: " Breguet, No. 2752".
Dial: Engine-turned gold, signed: "Breguet, No. 2752", with Roman numerals on a plain reserve, small auxiliary dial for seconds with concentric inverted aperture for phase of the moon, sectors indicating the state of wind for both going and striking trains. Blued-steel Breguet hands.
Movement: Rhodiumed maillechort,19"', by Les Fils de Victoria Piguet, two train, with differential winding, 39 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance. Blued-steel Breguet balance spring. Grande/petite sonnerie striking on two gongs with two hammers, strike selection and strike/silent bolts in the band. Repeating by means of a small slide releasing the strike train.
In perfect condition Diam. 52 mm.

Notes

History: First sold to a Monsieur Métadier, on 31 December 1932, for the sum of 30,000 Francs with an additional 1500 Francs, paid on 9 January 1933,on delivery for alterations made at the client's request. Bought back on 22 October 1948. Resold to Monsieur Matioli, on 22 October 1948. Bought back on 24 April 1953, it was sold to Monsieur J.J. Guerlain, on 13 May 1953.
Note: The provision of double up-and-down dials for both trains as the only dial indications (apart from the elegant inverted moon) is most unusual. JEAN-JACQUES GUERLAIN (1906- )
Born on the 19th of June 1906 in Paris. Chairman of Maison Guerlain, the famous French Perfume company. Received a Diploma from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales He married on 26 February 1932. His many honours and achievements include President and then Honorary President of the Fédération Française de l'Industrie for perfume and beauty products, former President of the Commission du Commerce Extérieur do Conseil National du Patronat Français, former President of the Comité Franc-Dollar, Founding and Honorary President of the Comité Colbert, Honorary Member of the Conseil d'Escompte, consulting adviser to the Bank of France, President of the union of Fabricants and the Sodema, Vice-president of the governing council of the Société des Paf funs Guerlain. Commander of the Légion d'Honncur and of the Econontie Nationale.
