Swiss, made for the Indian Market, circa 1890.Fine and unusual 18K gold, hunting cased, keyless quarter repeating watch with a concealed erotic automaton scene.
C. Four body, "grande gouge", cover and back profusely engraved with flowers and foliage and engine-turned inside. Hinged gold glazed cuvette, above the automaton scene. Driven by the repeating train, a loving couple are devoting themselves to basic reality to the delight of a peeping Tom glancing through a window. D. Silvered with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds, fully decorated with engraved and gold cast foliage decoration. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 19'', gilt brass, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band.Diam. 54 mm.
