Notes

The present lot bears two reference numbers: 1003 between the lugs, which refers the specific characteristics of this watch, and 1005 in the case back. References 1003 and 1005 are identical with the exception of the bezel. The case bodies and backs were interchangeable at the factory. Many important firms have chosen Rolex watches as gifts to their employees and collaborators and to mark milestones in careers such as the 25th year of service. A similar watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 202.
