Not signed, German, circa 1630. Fine and rare, quarter striking early weight driven automaton dock.

C. Rectangular with iron front face and sicle doors, the left one painted with the figure of a monk, the right one with that of a Saint Lady. Then front face painted with the dials with the automaton face of a Saint at the top. D. Painted chapter ring with Gothic Roman numerals, centred with a sun-burst an a later revolving alarm setting dise, subsidiary small dial for quarters of hour. Single iron hand. The half lengths body of the automaton's head is painted above the dial. Driven by the balance wheel foliot, the automatons head opens and close the mouth. M. Iron posted frame movement with square pillars, verge escapement with heavy iron balance wheel foliot, linked via levers to the automaton mouth. Hours and quarters striking on two bells with locking plates. In very good condition, with some restorations. Dim. 41 x 15 x 16 cm.

Neveuex à Paris, circa 1700. Unusual ebonised pear-wood, weight driven eight day going, hour and half hour striking, moon phase astronomical long-case regulator with flyback days of the week.

Later specially made and dated 1767, white chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring (hair lins), inner silvered fly-back days of the week sector, below the moon phase aperture. Watch holder designed as a small Regence tortoiseshell cartel inlaid with brass decoration, gilt bronze acanthus leaves applied on the corners and musician Cupid at the top. D. Embossed white enamel with Roman numerals. Later steel single hand. M. Gabriel Neroud de Grenoblecirca 1870. Very fine and rare brass and steel wheel cutting engine made with a double side dividing bras plate signed: Fait par lest et Giroud à Turin, 1814.

The 94 mm diameter plate is calculated for wheels of 9-11-13-16-17-54-56-64-68-80-84-100 teeth on one face, 44-40-60-62-72-76-90-96-110-200 on the other. The pivoting cutter holder enable to cut verge escape wheels. Signed both on the machine and on the plate. In very good condition. Dim. 24 x 15 cm.

Not signed, French, circa 1828. Fine and very unusual gilt brass, eight day going, hour and half hour going musical transportable dock of "Capucine" type, presented in 1824 to An. Rouchon, Capitaine au 11ème Léger, when he was awarded the "Légion d'Honneur"

C. Rectangular with brass tassel feet and finials, the front face engraved with flowers, bezel chased with floral decoration, an owl, a cock and the dedication dated 1824. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals (slightly chipped on the winding hole borders). Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Brass posted frame, three train with going barrels, anchor escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension, striking train with locking plate, striking on a be11, built-in two tune musical train with pin cylinder and 18 groups of three vibrating steel blades. Three glass rod fountains pouring from applied gilt bronze flourished dolphin and lion's head, the dial flanked with two cornucopias, bronze Cupid sitting at the top by a glass rod fountain pouring from an urn. D. Silvered engineturned, the gilt bronze chapter ring with Roman numerals, chased with a floral decoration. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels both for the going and the striking train, anchor escapement, "sunburst" pendulum, silk suspension. Striking on a bell with cou nt wheel on the back plate. Achille Brocot, 6 rue du Parc Royal, Paris, No. 4866, circa 1865. Very rare and important year going, moon phase astronomical hour and half hour striking dock with perpetual calendar and barometer, demonstrating the long duration system patented by Maurel on 24 November 1858.

C. Shaped black marble with barometer and perpetual calendar symmetrically disposed below the main dial. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet bands. Subsidiary enamel dial for the metallic barometer, the centre painted with a cloudy sky and for the perpetual calendar with moon phase aperture, days of the week, dates and months with the signs of the Zodiac. M. Brass full plate double train movement, the going and the striking train, both with four pairs of going barrels geared to each other according to the invention of Maurel and visible on the border of the dial. Brocot escapement, half second beating compensated pendulum, invented by Achille Brocot in March 1847, drawn from the Ellicot device, Brocot spring suspension.
