In the form of a caterpillar, whose body is made up of 11 graduated segments, the top of each of translucent scarlet enamel with black and yellow accents over flinqué set with diamonds, each segment terminated by a row of split pearls, the underside in black champlevé enamel with a gold pattern, the head decorated with black champlevé enamel and green emerald eyes. M. Brass, shaped, with fixed barrel, the 5-wheel train terminating with 2-arm fly governor. A cam fixed to the extension of the second wheel moves two levers up and down, resulting in a very realistic crawling motion, small knurled steel wheels running via contrate wheel meshing with the second wheel pinion, make the caterpillar move forward.Dim: Length 70 mm, thickness: 15 mm in the middle.

Rectangular top with canted corners, lightly engraved flat band and back with a slot for the winding lever, fluted adjustable shank extending at the top, half pearl-set glazed bezel protecting three-colored gold animated scene depicting a lady playing the harp, both hands moving on either side of the strings, a dove above the harp nodding in time to the music, applied on finely painted and overglazed enamel panel depicting a drawing room. M. Rectangular with canted corners, 27.4 x 14.4 mm, brass full-plate, pinned barrel with five tuned vibrating blades, rack winding, six-wheel train, last pinion in eccentric socket for tempo adjustment, automaton driven from two cams fitted to the first wheel arbor (after the pinned barrel).Dim. Three-body, by ?C.I?, rectangular with rounded corners, the top with applied varicolored floral and foliate patterns, the spring-loaded bird cover finely painted on enamel with bouquet of flowers, engine-turned side panels with edges of applied green gold laurel leaf pattern, back panel hinged to reveal key compartment, slide in the front to activate the rising of the bird, which rotates, turns its head, opens its beak, flaps its wings and moves its tail. The bird is facing the inside of the mirror-polished, concave medallion, which enlarges the bird in its reflection, gold engraved grill.Singing bird movement. 74 x 41mm, rectangular brass, fusee and chain, eight cams and a whistle with sliding piston for the song's modulation, cams rotating four times per song and lifting one step every rotation, allowing a long duration of singing, typical Rochat lifting mechanism by additional cam gathering four pins on the lifting cam wheel. Complicated rising of the bird?s medallion and the bird with five-wheel train finished by a pinion in eccentric socket to regulate the speed of the opening and closing. This complicated mechanism allows for precision control of the raising of the bird and medallion, and its speed.Stamped "FR" in an oval on the back of the bird mechanism, along with the number, the box punched with maker?s mark and Geneva quality mark.Dim. 78 x 52 mm.

Hinged lid opening to reveal finely engine-turned gold plate with winding apertures for musical movement and bird song and movement, sector for speed regulation, marked «V/L». Engine-turned sides with blue enamel accents, the corners with chased and enraved blue enamel floral motifs, hinged key compartment on one end.
